Finding resources to teach neurodivergent learners can be tricky. When you have so many different needs in your classroom, when you have multiple paraprofessionals that you need to train, and when you have a million pieces of paperwork to keep organized and on top of, it can feel overwhelming. I have taught in a self-contained classroom for 7 years and every year poses new challenges and a need for new materials. I wasn't always happy with what my district would provide for support, so I started making a lot of my own materials and organizing my classroom differently based on the PD opportunities I would seek out for myself. That is how I came to start Accessible Education Store. It started with me posting the things I used everyday, with the thought that if I was struggling to find materials for my classroom, there must be other teachers like me who are too. Now I use my blog and social media platforms to share the experiences I've picked up along the way, and create products that will help all teachers teach in an effective, neurodivergent affirming way.
